Ethel Irene Edmonds Crain, 78, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Feb 8, 2022, with her sons by her side. She was born and raised in Madison County, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Vance (Junior), her parents Fred and Mary Edmonds and her brothers Billy, Johnny, Guy, Horace and Marvin. She was modest but proud of her boys, her grandkids and the many, many extended family members often gathered around her table. She took in and cared for many kids over the years and took great delight in their accomplishment and achievements. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but she raised a village.

Ethel is survived by her two sons, Randall of Pacifica, CA, Freddy and wife Carolina of Gastonia; two grandchildren, Sofia and Tonito; special nieces, LaDonna Crain, Brenda Meetze, Kathey Yarbrough, Margaret Gardner, and of course the many others that called her Mom.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday Feb 12, 2022, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Junior Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be nephews.

At other times, the family will be at the Edmonds home place, 160 Culberson Branch, Mars Hill, NC 28754. Donations may be made to Hospice Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204, or Upper Laurel Baptist Church, 9940 US Hwy. 23, Mars Hill, NC.
