Ethel G. Talton, 92, of Mars Hill passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a daughter of the late John and Mamie Cook Gosnell. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clay Talton, 4 sons; Billy, Alvin, Verlin and Roger Talton. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are her daughters; Linda Wallin, of Marshall, Virginia Talton of Mars Hill and Darlene Talton of Alabama, sons; Joe Talton and wife Treva of Greenville, TN., Jack Talton and wife Gay, Jerry Talton of Marshall and Donnie Talton and wife Wanda of Hendersonville, sisters; Doris Talton of Jonesboro, TN and Mae Leake of Marshall, brother, Richard Gosnell of Russellville, TN., 21 grandchildren, several great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 7:30PM in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Revs John Brown and Larrie Pike will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Tillman Gosnell Cemetery on Lonesome Mountain Rd., Marshall,, N.C.
