Eugene D Metcalf, age 76, of Barnardsville passed away Thursday November 18th, 2021.

He was a lifelong resident Buncombe County and son of the late Hugh and Effie Whittemore Metcalf. He was also preceded in death by his wife Linda Metcalf who died in 2019. Eugene was a retired tobacco farmer and formerly worked at Oakley Elementary School. He was a member of Pisgah Forest Freewill Baptist Church.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hyatt; a sister, Joanne Rice; grandsons, Eli Hyatt and Ezra Hyatt (Haley); and his great grandchildren; Isabelle and Everly Hyatt.

A memorial service will be held Monday November 22 at 3:00 pm in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
