Evelyn Fender Moss, 90, of Moss Ridge Drive, Mars Hill, went to be with our Lord, September 22nd, 2021.She was preceded in death by her parents: Lewis and Mamie Peek Fender, two sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Moss was a member of Blue Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She previously served as treasurer, secretary, leader of the youth choir, and directed several Christmas plays. Evelyn was a woman of great faith. She loved God and her family very much. She took care of many who were sick and needed her help. She loved to sing, and "The Moss Family" went many places to sing and lift up the name of the Lord. She would garden in summer and canned and froze the harvest for winter. "It beats a snowball", she would say. She was a wonderful seamstress and made clothes for the whole family. She would get on her riding mower and she and Dad would mow their property as well as her sisters. There wasn't much she wouldn't try from plowing with a tractor to driving a silage truck. She was one of a kind and was loved by many.

Evelyn is survived by her husband: Robert "Bob" Moss, daughters: Penny McNally (David), Debbie Reese, brothers: Kernan Fender (Sandy), grandchildren: Josh Reese, Tabitha White (Billy), Jenny Wheeler (Bobby) and Matthew Meadows (Emily), and 9 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Gary Fender and Randy Blank will officiate. Burial will follow in Higgins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm prior to the service.
