Everett Carlisle Sherlin, 79, of Walnut, NC passed away, October 17, 2025 at Care Partners Hospice in Asheville, NC. He was the son of the late Clayton Sherlin and Ruby Waldrop Rogers.

Everett served in the US Army and US Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Galloway Sherlin; an infant brother Bobby Sherlin and brothers, George, Albert, Larry and Garry Sherlin; grandchildren, Shelby Jodry and Tucker Cole Thomas.

Everrett is survived by his wife, Brenda Reed Sherlin; daughters, Marlena Carver and Deborah Bradley; grandchildren, Trent Sherlin (Victoria), Maranda Garrett, Terri Worsham and Josh Carver; great grandchildren, Sadie, Nevaeh, Elizabeth, Oliver, Macen, Morgann, Colcen, Ezrah, Dezmond, Rayland and Emmitt.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Reed-Gosnell Cemetery. Reverend's Jack Riddle and Dusty Kipp will officiate.

At other times the family will be at the home, 171 Walnut Drive, Marshall, NC 28753.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Everrett's honor to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754, to assist the family with final expenses or to an organization of your choice.
