Farrell "Gene" King, of Weaverville, born February 17, 1950, departed this life December 11, 2021 at the age of 71, passed away after several years of declining health. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Harriett Emory King, brother, Yates King and brother-in-law, Frank Rector, Jr. He was formally employed with Standard Paper Inc. and Burlington Industry.

He is survived by his brother, Ray King (Dianne); sisters, Gail Waycaster, Peggy Honeycutt, Cathy Rector and sister-in-law, Kathy Sprinkle King, several nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Faith Independent Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Dean Metcalf and Steven Honeycutt will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent King, Dale Honeycutt, Corey Morgan, Shane Hensley, Joseph Baxter, and Brian Hopson; honorary pallbearers are Ryley Maney and Jayden Baxter.
