Frances Shepherd Reed, 75, of Asheville, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Wade and Bonnie Calloway Shepherd and a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Frances was preceded in death by two grandsons, Zach and Luke Loftis, and three brothers, Roy, Billy, and Arnold Shepherd.

Frances deeply loved and cherished her family, and above all, she loved Jesus. Close behind were her favorite treats: Starbucks mochas, strawberry milkshakes, and eggs.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Renee Reed and Tiffany Reed (Joseph Brigden), son, Cliff Reed; sisters, Elaine Baldwin (Richard), Naomi Davis, Jan Honeycutt, and Linda Henderson; grandchildren, Savannah Loftis and EJ Love (Xena); great grandchildren, Orion, Oasis, Oshn, and Isha; several nieces, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Shane Ball will officiate.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
