Gary Edsel Buckner, 67, passed away February 25, 2025. He was born June 30, 1957 to the late Edsel and Marie Haynes Buckner.

Gary was a graduate of Madison High School and a US Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Roger Buckner.

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandy Alexander Buckner; daughters Jamie Leyva (Daniel), and Ashley Boykin (Brian); son, Brandon Buckner, grandchildren, Cadence Boykin, Delilah Boykin, and Evelyn, who is on the way; and sister-in-law, Erika Love Buckner.

A committal service will be held 12:00pm, Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following for a celebration of life at the home of Jamie Leyva from 1:30-4:00pm at 22 Stone River Drive, Asheville, NC 28804.
