Gary Israel, 80, of 34 Israel Rd., passed away June 18, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of Buncombe County and the son of the late Ralph W. and Blanche Revis Israel. Mr. Israel was a US Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Edith Gertrude Israel; daughters, Donna Moore (Robert) and Betty Owenby (Jerry); son, Allen Israel; sisters, Shirley Littrell, Revonda Banks and Virginia Lamb; brothers, Ray and Junior Israel; grandchildren, Travis Gowing, Matthew Parham, Stephen Israel, Timmy Israel and Jonathan Parham; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, June 21, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Stephen Israel will officiate.
