Gerald Denver Shelton, 81, passed away on May 10, 2022. He was the son of the late Freeman and Ethel Worley Shelton also preceded in death by grandparents Manuel "Rod" and Varelia Chandley Shelton and James and Nora Ellen Patrick Worley. Gerald worked as a logger and sawmill operator.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Cutshall Shelton; daughter: Sheila Kay Shelton (Randy); grandchildren: Tanya Amanda, Travis Jason (Lisa); great grandchildren: Garrett Wayne Anders, Trace Denver and Seth Keegan and Colt Metcalf; great great granddaughter: Paisley Rose; aunt, Dolores Shelton Worley; special cousins: Greg Worley, Porcia Cantrell, Norma Lee Cutshall, Nina Sue Shelton, Dennis and Mary Ann Metcalf and many other cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2022, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Raymond Cantrell and Jimmy Dean Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Culvin Creek Community Cemetery.
