Guy Deward Rader, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Born on June 21, 1944, in Greeneville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Deward Cart Rader and Neoni Cutshall Rader.

Guy was a Godly man with a generous heart who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He found great joy in the outdoors and took pride in teaching his children and family the traditions of hunting and fishing, as well as sharing his faith and love of God. His life was a reflection of kindness, humility, and devotion to those he loved.

He dedicated 44 years of hard work as a Yuke driver with Vulcan Materials, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability until his retirement. After retirement, Guy dedicated his life to his cat, goats, chickens and making woodworks and crafts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Deleane Rader, who passed away in 2010; sisters, Jeraldine Sexton and Lola Rader; and his brother, Teddy Rader.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Denise Granger (Josh); his sons, Lee Ball (Sandy), Donald Ball (Sharon), and Dewayne Ball (Revonda) and Porky Ball (Evelyne); sister, Shelby Taylor (Calvin); 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville, with his grandson, Aaron James Powell, officiating.
