Harley Wiggins, 98, of Medford Branch Rd., Candler died Monday, December 15, 2014 in Winston Salem, NC. Harley was a native of Swain County and had lived in Candler over 70 years. He retired from American Enka Corporation after 30 years and faithfully attended Glady Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mezilda Bridges Wiggins, of over 50 years; a sister, Laura and 3 brothers, Dave, Bud and Quindell, grandson, Robbie Capps and great grandson Ken Wiggins.

Survivors: Wife, Julia; daughter, Louedith Watkins and husband Bruce; 3 sons, Kenneth, Marshall and wife Brenda, Bruce and wife Helen; step-daughter Teresa Hathaway and husband Terry; 3 step-sons Denver Casto and wife Marge, Bobbie Casto and wife Joyce and William Casto and Nanette, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren.

Mr. Wiggins' funeral service will be held 7:00pm, Wednesday, December 17, at Glady Baptist Church. Reverend David Grindstaff will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The burial will be 11:00am, Thursday, December 18, at Green Hills Cemetery.

The deacons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

At other times the family will be at the home of Bruce and Helen Wiggins, 171 Medford Branch rd., Candler, NC
