Harold Coates, 82 of Grapevine Road passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Abram Sr. and Patti Rice Coates. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Portia Davis, Clara Ramsey and Pauline Phillips; brothers, A.L. Jr., Paul and twin brother, Farold Coates. Harold loved his family, friends and neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Murray Coates; daughter, Diana McBride and husband Ron; sister, Anna Ruth Wallen; grandson, Hagan McBride; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A graveside service will be held 11:00am Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Coates Family Cemetery. Family members will officiate the service.
