Harvey "Allen" Marshbanks, Jr., 67, of Weaverville passed away March 11, 2023. He was the son of the late Harvey A. Marshbanks, Sr., Mary Jo Sams Marshbanks, and his birthmother Mildred Penland Norris. Allen was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1975-1977. He was a former deacon at Morgan Hill Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and was a youth director. He most recently attended New Life Community Church. Allen started with Ansel Refrigeration in 1978 then started his own Refrigeration service company in 1989 until present. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Kathy Lunsford Marshbanks, who passed away in 2021, two sisters Irene Waddell and Doris Eller.

Allen loved all things sports. He coached youth league basketball and softball, played adult softball, and loved to be on the golf course.

He is survived by daughters, Sara (John), Christina (Sean), and Alana; niece Terry (Doug) and six grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Jerry Shelton and Chris Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow.
