Harvey "Gene" Rice, of Marshall, age 76, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was the son of the late Simon and Minnie Hensley Rice. He is survived by his wife Erma Gosnell Rice; daughter, Cyndy Fox (Rick) of Marshall; sons, Edward Rice (Lynn) of Mars Hill and Brian Rice of Marshall; brother, Arvile (Doris) Rice of Mars Hill; sister, Vergie Edward of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Brad Fox (Kendell), Travis Fox (Rachel), Jessica Ziegler (Luke) and Destiny Rice; and best friends, Angie and Michael Carlisle. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 18th at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Ken Parker and Dennis Anderson officiating.
