Helen Harvel Chandler, 88, of Madison County, went to be with Jesus on June 16, 2024.

Helen was born in Jonesville, VA on June 13, 1936 to William and Edna Harvel. She attended Warren Wilson College. She met and married Andrew Chandler on September 3, 1956 and has resided in Madison County, NC. She was a member of Easter Gap Church.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna Harvel; brothers, William, Earl, Oscar, Joe, Herbert, John Harvel; sister, Peggy; her husband, Andrew; and son, Robert.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Andrew Chandler Jr. and William Chander (Linda); three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Pat Harvel (Brenda); and sister, Betty Jane Hall.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Calvin Martin and Kellen Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
