Helen Ponder Ramsey, 89, of 199 Pickens Rd., went home to be with the Lord, January 16, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 15, 1926 to the late Roy and Eliza Ponder. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Ramsey, who she was married to for 63 years, sister, Mauveline Manuel, brothers, Harvey, Richard, Ronnie, Joe and Wayne Ponder and Bobby Wallin.

Mrs. Ramsey is survived by two daughters; Juanita Evans (Stephen), Opal McKinney (Steve), two sons; Clyde B. Ramsey (Elsie) and Novile A. Ramsey all of Weaverville, sisters, Beulah Buie and Barbara Wheeler, brothers, Billy, Tommy and Harry Ponder,seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, elevengreat grandchildren and one great great grandchild, one special friend Ardath Peek Rice and numerous other family and friends who will also miss her. A special thanks to Michelle Ramsey.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday, January 18, at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend's Ben Whitmire and Walter Ponder will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm Sunday, January 17 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service and at other times will be at the home.
