Irene Margaret Pegg Allen, 95, formerly of Barnardsville, currently living in Candler, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Jim Henry and Esta Webb Pegg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Bud Allen, who passed away in 2020, two sisters, and nine brothers. Irene was a founding life-time member of Carson's Chapel Baptist Church.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Toni Allen Eller (Russ), son, Keith Boyd Allen (DeeDee), grandchildren, Nikki Black (Nick), Cody Willet (Bailey), Samantha and Katie Allen, step-grandchildren, Jonathan Eller, Jesse Eller (Brianna), Sam Eller (Marissa), and Steve Eller, great grandchildren, Waylon, Mason, and Beau, step great grandchildren, Cayden, Jaxson, Thatcher, Sophia, Ellie, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend David Crowder will officiate. A private family burial will follow in Pegg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
