Iris McIntosh English, 94, passed away November 26, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1930 in Yancey County, to the late Herman and Frona Roland McIntosh. Iris volunteered for over 30 years at Madison Manor. She was a Long Leaf Pine recipient from the Governor of NC. Iris was a lifelong member of Peasant Gap United Methodist Church and retired from Square D.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max English; sisters, Zelda Banks and Martha Frisbee; and brothers, Fred and Ralph McIntosh.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Deanna Fox (Thomas), and Denise Austin (Darin); great nephews, Tyler Austin (Cheyenne), Samuel Fox (Brianna), James Fox (Charlene); great great nieces, Ember Austin and Nora Fox.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday December 1, 2024, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Pastor Samuel Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
