Iris Teresa Massey Thomas , 64, of 177 Odus Allen Road passed away Sunday, November 3 2013. She was the daughter of Pearl Anderson Massey and the late McKinley Massey. Mrs. Thomas is also preceded in death by a nephew Rickey Joe Cody. Mrs. Thomas was a faithful member of Prices Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a former teachers aid in the Madison County education system. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Thomas ; daughters, Becky Rice (Todd), Stacey Poore (Lee); son Richard Thomas Jr.; grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Dylan Ramsey, Jessica Thomas, Savannah Poore, Elisabeth Rice and William Thomas; great grand-daughter, Alyssa Sawyer; sister, Pamela Cooper (Tommy); niece and nephew, Lisa Cody and Jason Reed (Becky); great niece and nephews, Myles and Myla Rice, Cierra and Summer Reed; special friend Brenda Sherlin, special cousins and many friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in Prices Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. David Brigham and Rev. Dennis Shepherd will officiate. Burial will follow in Crooked Ridge Cemetery on Big Pine Rd. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Tuesday, November 5 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
