James David Bass, Weaverville, age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at John F. Keever Solace Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Willie Mae Wallen Bass. Survived by his wife, Kathryn Allen Bass; a daughter, Kathy Riddle (Jack) of Marshall; two sisters, Marie Clark and Helen Maler; 4 brothers, Charles Bass (Brenda), Ronald Bass (Margaret), Jessie Bass (Ruby) and Burnice Bass; grandchildren, Johnathan, Aaron, Nicole and Kandice; and six great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Charles English and Rev. Dennis Shephard officiating. Interment will follow at Faith Church Cemetery in Barnardsville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
