James "Jimmy" Edward Harwood, 78, of Barnardsville, passed away at his residence Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Jimmy was lifelong farmer in Buncombe and Madison County.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Erma Irene (Burleson) Harwood; sons, Buddy Harwood (Daphne) and Eddie Harwood (Linda); sister, Frances Melrose; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Rocky Lane Cemetery, 3 Rocky Lane Road, Barnardsville. Reverends Larry Coates and Daniel Reid will officiate. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 PM at The Barn at Paint Fork.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the celebration of life to the Barnardsville PTO for needy children in memory of Jimmy Harwood or mailed to 20 Hillcrest Drive, Barnardsville, NC 28709.
