James H. Eury's physical body released his strong spirit on Monday, January 16, 2012 with his wife and love, Carol Eury, by his side.
Jim, as he was known to family and friends, thoroughly enjoyed life. Anyone who came to know Jim soon learned of his appreciation of Johnny Cash, Ford Motor Company and quality craftmanship, but most importantly, they learned that Jim was someone who was interested in knowing about them, their story.
Jim was born on January 24, 1941,in Fort Wayne, IN and was the son of the late Harold and Helen Alice Eury. He lived with his family in Miami, Fl from 1955-1963, and Jim moved to Asheville in 1963 and with his late brother, Jerry Eury, started Asheville Auto Parts. Later in life, Jim owned and operated Eury Ford in Marshall, NC.
Jim enjoyed building and remodeling homes, creating a backyard haven for birds, tending his trees and conversing with Ali, their devoted Shih Tzu.
In his last days Jim expressed that "he had done everything he had ever wanted and met and married the love of his life." Jim is survived by his wife of 18 years, Carol Eury of Weaverville, and many close family members and friends who will continue to share their Jim stories for many years to come.
A celebration of Jim's life will be 4:00pm, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin will officate.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Care Partners Hospice Foundation, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Jim received excellent and tender care from the John F. Keever Solace Center staff.
