James Colby McLaughlin, 26, of Asheville passed away October 23, 2021. He was the son of Rhonda Penland McLaughlin (Aaron Cape) and the late James McLaughlin, Jr. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a son, Connor McLaughlin, maternal grandmother, Marcia Rogers; maternal grandfather, Steve Penland; uncles, Donnie Rogers, and Jeffrey Harwood.

James is survived by a son, Leland McLaughlin; brothers, Brandon Wise, and Jonathan McLaughlin (Kinsey Birch); paternal grandmother, Catherine McLaughlin, paternal grandfather, James McLaughlin; aunts, Regina Gosnell and Lisa Holt; uncles, Randy Penland, Stephen, Robert and Gary Simpson and several cousins.

The family will receive friends 5-7:00pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A private burial will be held Friday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
