Janet Lynn McMahan, 57, of Asheville, went to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

A native of Madison County, Janet is reunited in heaven with her father, Robert Lee Presnell; sister-in-law, Donna Presnell; paternal grandparents, John and Leona Presnell; maternal grandparents, Burley and Nora Green; father-in-law, William Dale Davis.

Janet was known as a wonderful cook who loved spending all her time in the great outdoors. She was never shy about busting wood, hunting or fishing. She had a deep passion for bears and had joined Asheville's NC State Urban/Suburban Black Bear Study, where she was able to continue advocating for local bears. She was a loving aunt, mother, and grandmother. Janet will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Darrell; daughter, Lena Robinson; son, Anthony Moore; grandchildren, Adrian and Kylie Robinson. She also leaves behind her mother, Edith Lena Presnell; brothers, Terry, Randy Presnell (Tammy) and Randall Presnell; three nieces, Harmony, Julie, and Elizabeth; seven nephews including Oakley; mother-in-law, Rita Jean Davis; and sister-in-law, Tiffany Buckner (Michael).

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverend Jerry Shelton will officiate. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Keenerville Baptist Church Cemetery, Meadow Fork Rd., Hot Springs, NC.
