Jarrod Herbert Franklin, 57, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Mission Hospital. He was

born June 30, 1966, in Buncombe County and was a lifelong resident of the Alexander

community.

Jarrod attended North Buncombe High School and had a career as a skilled plumber. He

enjoyed playing golf, even scoring a hole-in-one. Jarrod enjoyed cooking, being outdoors and

his friendships. It has been said, "There wasn't a time that I ever called Jarrod, that he didn't try

to help." Jarrod also enjoyed playing his harmonica to bring comfort and support to others. He

would try to bring laughter to friends who needed to have their spirits lifted. Jarrod did have a

relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his spirit is now at rest and peace.

Jarrod is preceded in death by his father, Herbert "Herb" Franklin, grandmother, Luarty Roberts

Franklin and grandfather, Benjamin Herbert Franklin of Alexander, grandmother, Sarah Shepard

Jones and grandfather, James Jones of Woodfin.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby Jones Franklin of Alexander, son, Austin Franklin of

Asheville and brother Mikey Franklin (Adrienne) of Candler, and nephew, William "Case"

Franklin and niece Camille "Millie" Franklin and numerous cousins.

A private family graveside service will be scheduled for Flint Hill Cemetery and

shared at a later date.
