Jean Estella Boone, born July 24, 1932 passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Jean is the daughter of the late Floyd and Frankie Chandler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Boone.

Jean is survived by her son, William "Bill" Boone (Peggy) of Mars Hill; step grandchildren, Brian Roberts (Debra), Mickey Roberts (Rachel); several step grandchildren; great grandchildren; nephew, John Boone of West Virginia and his children, Travis (Holly), Daniel (Samantha) and their children; along with several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Eric Young and Ross Young will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery on Holland Creek Rd. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00PM Friday evening in the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Per the family's request mask are required and social distancing for attendance.

Jean was a wonderful cook and prize winning, canner. Her canning won several awards at the Western N.C. State Fair. A professional quality seamstress, making Bill some of the first suits and other clothing he wore to school. A very, hard worker, Jean will be remembered my many from the school system to manufacturing plants in the area. A remarkable support system for her husband and son. She will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Brian Center for the care they provided Jean during her short stay. Also, the staff at Mission Hospital for their wonderful care.
