Mrs. Marie Young Messer, 90, of Asheville passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Emerald Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. She was the daughter of the late Hobert Young and Ruth Summey Young Hoffman. Marie was raised by her aunt and uncle: Will and Rachael Strange. Marie was widowed by her husband Aubrey Worth Messer and preceded in death by a son: Michael Worth Messer and her three sisters. She was an executive secretary with the Blue Ridge Assembly YMCA before retiring.

Marie is survived by a son: William Fletcher Messer and his wife Martha, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a brother-in-law: Roy Cantrell.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Steve Rhinehart will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
