Jerry "David" McKinney, 66, passed away on September 26, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1959, to the late Jerry McKinney, Sr. and Betty Hensley McKinney.

David retired from Hickman Edge Systems after 35 years of service. He attended Carolina Baptist Tabernacle. David loved gardening and caring for his family and any others that needed a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rene Crane McKinney; children, David McKinney III, Katie McKinney; daughter in love, Stacy Teasley (Larry); sister, Deborah McKinney; brother, Robin McKinney (Sheila); brother in love, Billy Webb; grandchildren, Joshua McKinney (Sarah-May), Jeremy McKinney; great grandchildren, Virginia and Aldo McKinney; and grandchildren in love, Samantha Deckrow, Aaron Teasley, and Kendra Teasley; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville. Reverends Lanny Cobb and Darrell Roberts will officiate.

At other times, the family will be at the home of his mother, 41 Salem Church Rd., Weaverville, where you are welcome to visit with them following the service.
