On Thursday, November 17, 2022, Jerry Todd Brooks, a husband for 33 years, father of two and grandfather of three, passed away at the age of 52. Todd was born on February 26, 1970, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. He graduated high school from Clyde A. Erwin High School in 1988 and went on to join the United States Navy in November of 1988. He completed the prestigious Basic Enlisted Submarine School and proudly served aboard the USS Albuquerque SSN 706 for 2 years where he earned his Dolphins. On February 26, 1989, he married Stephanie Jane Travis of Fairview, North Carolina. Together they raised a son and daughter, Aaron and Shelby.

Todd loved all music but was especially fond of classic rock. In his early 20s, he purchased an acoustic guitar and taught himself how to play. Throughout his life, he performed in bands and later in his life, became involved in his church's band playing Contemporary Christian music for Sunday services. His love of music brought joy to everyone around him, and his family have fond memories of him turning almost any living space into a recording studio.

He loved his family deeply and talked about them constantly to his coworkers. He was especially proud of his children, Aaron and Shelby, each of whom have accomplished their childhood dreams and he loved to brag about them. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sybil. He is survived by his wife Stephanie, two children, Aaron and Shelby, father, Jerry, sister Cindy, daughter-in-law Rebekah, brother-in-law Paul, and his three grandchildren, Sage, Scarlett, and Cleo. Also surviving are his niece Tiffany and great niece Mikaela.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service in Mars Hill, North Carolina at 11 am.
