Jessie James Edwards, 83, of Lower Bailey Branch Rd. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Lincoln and Dovie Fox Edwards. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Alma Edwards Greene and Wilma Edwards Young and a brother, Alvin Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Doris Wilson Edwards; son, Randy Edwards; a granddaughter, Brandi Aidrean Edwards, who was the light of his life, sister, Dahlia Edwards Wilson (Rotha); brothers, Vernon Edwards (Cilla), Bernie Edwards (Wanda) and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Edwards loved farming, Bee Keeping, Fishing, Hunting and spending time with his granddaughter and his dog Titus.

A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Scott Dodson and Rotha Wilson will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ricky Edwards, Roy Jay Young, Michael and Chris Wilson, Brian Edwards and James Greene. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00pm prior to the service.
