Jo Ann McElreath Caldwell, 66, of New Leicester Hwy., passed away December 31, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Jo Ann was the daughter of the late Zade and Grace Holbert McElreath. Mrs. Caldwell was the owner and operator of Shady Side Florist in Marshall, NC for 29 years.

She is survived by her husband, David Caldwell Sr.; daughter, Joan McCurry (Darrell); son, David Caldwell Jr. (Deanna Messer); sister, Pam Barbee; brother, Kenneth Powell; grandchildren, Haydn and Carson and a special friend Chris Worley.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, January 3, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastors Rusty Smart and Ron Dodson will officiate. The burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
