Joan Metcalf Poole, 78, of Spillcorn, passed away, November 30, 2025 surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Earlis and Florence Cutshall Metcalf. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Poole (Jamie); sister, Shirley Metcalf; brother, Gene Metcalf; and Stepson, Fred Poole II (Melody). Joan spent her life working textiles and raising a big family who are left to cherish her memory.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Fred Poole who she built a beautiful life with filled with unconditional love; sons, Scott Poole (Rhonda), Mitch Poole (Buffy); stepson, Chuck Poole (Joyce), stepdaughter Cheryl Wright (Donnie); sisters, Kathleen and Linda Kay; brothers, Raymond, Dwight, Ricky and Gerald; grandchildren, Preston, Maverick, Zackary, Taylor, Timothy, Devon, Kaleb, Cole, Jacklyn, Matthew, Christian, Isaac, Abigail, Marie, Chrissy, Anna, Robert, Sara, Jamie, and Julia; lots of nieces and nephews whom she loved and a special great niece Brittany Roberts (The Princess).
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Eddie Roberts and Raymond Cantrell will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
