The Ramsey family sadly announces the passing of Joan Reel Ramsey of Mars Hill on Thursday, April 28, 2022. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmy of 68 years and son Scott. Joan was a faithful member of the Beech Glen Baptist Church that she loved dearly, an avid gardener, gifted decorator who loved flowers and antiques. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter: Nanette Ramsey (Drake); Son: Brian Ramsey (Shandra); grandchildren: Casey Schroader (Crystal), Jesse Schroader Courtney), Kylie Peek (Chad), Anna Harrill, Clint and Dustin Ramsey; and her great grandchildren, Ella, Sawyer, Corbin, Tucker, Lola Jo, Olivia, Penelope, Tripp, and Grady.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30pm Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service., immediately followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at California Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Stanley Peek officiating.
