John Wiley Metcalf, age 80, passed away on March 1, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1943, in Buncombe County, to the late James L. and Lessie King Metcalf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Allen Metcalf who passed away in 2018; grandsons, Beau Hensley.

John is survived by his wife, Wilma Evans Metcalf; daughter, Elaine Phillips (Farrell); son John Metcalf (Danielle); stepson, Jason Sams; sister, Carolyn Smith; brothers, Don Metcalf (Linda), Daryl Metcalf (Sheila), and Royce Metcalf (Jinnie); 3 grandchildren, Tonya Metcalf (Isaiah), Trevor Phillips, and Tommy Phillips; Great grandson; Cameron Hensley, step-grandchildren, Russell Estepp, and Johnny Estepp.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday March 4, 2024, in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Dean Metcalf will officiate.
