Joyce Carolyn Coates Fender, age 71, of Aiken Road, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015, in OSU Medical Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late William Finley and Dorothy Roberts Coates. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Amelia Roberts.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Dewayne Fender; daughter Annette Sherlin (Frank); sons, Dewayne and Darrell Fender; sister Pat McMahan Roberts; brothers, Jerry and Sam Coates; grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor, Mykayla and Haleigh Fender, great grandchildren, Riley Fender and Nadia Edmonds, sister-in-law Patsy Shook and brother-in-law Danny Boone.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 30, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Ron Dodson and Danny Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 1:30 – 3:30 pm Sunday, November 29 at the funeral home.
