Judy Gosnell Durham, age 78, of the Grapevine Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Elderberry Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Arvil and Ruby Buckner Gosnell.

Judy graduated from Mars Hill College with a major in education. She then received her Master's degree from Southern Baptist Seminary and was Minister of Education at Rosewood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and at different churches in Virginia. Later, she worked as a librarian at elementary schools in Virginia until her retirement. After moving back to North Carolina, she lived in her family home where she grew up. After retirement, Judy enjoyed working in the library at Mars Hill Baptist Church where she was a member.

Judy is survived by her husband, James Durham; son, Jonathan Durham; and sister, Joyce Dale.

A private graveside service will be held in the Gosnell Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will be held May 31, 2023 at 2:00 pm, at Mars Hill Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of Elderberry Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Judy.
