Judy Ann Hipps Lanning, 75, passed away on April 3, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1949 to the late James Devroe Hipps and Mary Emeline Jordan Gann. Judy loved coloring and completing her crosswords.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her loving husband, David Lanning and brother Buddy Gann.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Angel (Charles), Denise Lanning (Mikey), Jennifer Rice; her son, Chris Griffin (Falicia); her sisters Vonnie Hipps (Rick), Frannie Dillingham (Darryl); her grandchildren, Dylan Angel (Jordan), Hailey Murphy (Peyton), Mackenzie Angel (Rochelle), Elizabeth Laughter (Tommy), Brandon Rice (Helena), Cody Rice, Brittany Rice, Caleb Griffin and Albert Griffin; her great grandchildren, Amara, Brinley, Raelynn, Mayson, Mackenzie, Aaliyah, Zaylee and her beloved dog Honey; her special friends, Fannie Worley and Dexter Lanning.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday April 9, 2025 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Reverend Clarence Blackwell will be officiating.
