Judy Roberts Nix, 80, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on June 16, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Jane Pegg Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Nix, who passed away in 2013; son, James Nix; her sister, Mary Lou Buckner; and her brother, Jimmy Roberts.

Judy will be remembered for her compassionate heart, loving spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a special love for children and devoted much of her life to caring for them. Judy worked in the Pediatrics department at the hospital and later owned and operated her own daycare, where she lovingly cared for many children as if they were her own.

She lived life with energy and enthusiasm, never meeting a stranger and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Judy also had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed her time as a former race car driver. Above all else, her family was the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sheila Calvert (Ron) and Teresa Nix; son, Kenny Nix; sister, Ruth Ann Holden; grandchildren, Eric Haney (Anissa), Matthew Haney, Rachel Haney, Katie Warren (Taylor), and Kendall Sawyer (Tyler); and 9 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service with Reverends Albert Roberts, Larry Moore and Eric Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Mountain Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Sheila Calvert, 15 Melinda Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28791.
