Obituary

Judy Harding Taylor, 71, passed from this life to eternal life with her Lord, on October 28, 2012, at her home in Weaverville, NC. A native of Buncombe County, she was the eldest daughter of the late William Daniel Harding and Betty Lee Shelton born March 10, 1941. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Stanley Frank Markowski, brother, Charles Cornelius "Corny" Harding, and granddaughter, Hannah Marie Taylor.

Judy was a firm believer in not leaving things undone, receiving her GED in October 1989, at the age of 48. She was a devoted member of the Calvary Worship Center in Marshall, NC. She was passionate about caring for her family, serving in her church, and home cooking. For years she used her devotion to her church, her love for others, and her love for food to be an example of servanthood, cooking meals every Wednesday evening at Calvary Worship Center. She often delivered desserts to unsuspecting recipients, whether it was a friend, bank employees who served her, or her family.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Onzie Oscar Taylor, Jr., sons William Randall "Randy" Taylor and wife Vanessa, David Wayne Taylor and wife Tammy, daughter, Sandra Elaine Taylor Blackwell and husband Robert, four grandchildren, David Alan & Amanda Elizabeth Ford, Savannah Taylor Blackwell, and Sara Nicole Taylor, sister Joyce Harding Fowler and husband Johnny, brother, Thomas William "Tommy" Harding, and many nieces and nephews, whom she held dear.

The family will receive friends on 6-8:00pm, Thursday, November 1, at Calvary Worship Center and other times at the home at 11 Hannah Marie Drive, Weaverville, NC.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, November 2, at Calvary Worship Center, Marshall, NC. Pastor Ronald Dodson, Pastor Rusty Smart and Rev. Larry Hollifield will officiate. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Ashelawn Garden of Memory, Aiken Road, Asheville. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews: Gary and Dwain Taylor, John and Shane Fowler, David Whiteman and David Cheek.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to the incredible staff on the 10th floor of St. Joseph's Hospital, especially our special nurse Jennifer Wright, the WNC Cancer Care group, and Care Partner's Hospice for the tender, loving care that was given to Judy over the course of her illness. They also want to thank the Calvary Worship Center and the Mars Hill Baptist Church for the love and support throughout this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kitchen Fund at Calvary Worship Center, PO Box 547, Marshall, NC 28753
