Julia Norton, 67, of Marshall, NC, passed away June 4, 2025 after a long battle with illness. She was born April 23, 1958 and was a daughter to the late Boney Junior and Gwendolyn Wallin Gosnell. She was also preceded in death by her father, Joseph Teat Norton; brothers, Martin Kevin Norton and Danny Junior Gosnell; sister-in-law, Martha Norton; and nephew, Mark Anthony Andrews.

A natural caregiver at heart, Julia earned an Associate Degree in early childhood development from A-B Tech and later became a CNA. She enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters and was an avid Candy Crush player.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Gwen Naulty (Steven); son, Martin Ray Hyder; sister, Penny Green (Billy); brother, Joseph Larry Norton; sister-in-law, Teresa Laws; grandchildren, Julia Ann Wallin, Olivia Wren Naulty, and Chase Anthony Norton; several nieces and nephews including, Mark Anthony Harlow (Gabrielle), Tony Hawk Andrews (Taylor), Christopher Danny Laws, and many more.

The family would like to thank her amazing and wonderful caregiver and dear friend Teresa Gunter, for the love and care during Julia's illness.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 20, 2025 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
