Katherine Nora Honeycutt Coates, 83, of Marshall, NC passed away May 21, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County, and the daughter of the late Robert and Margie Honeycutt Ramsey. Ms. Coates attended Arrington Branch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Zack Coates, sisters Martha Parker and Hazel Bradley, and a brother Billy Ramsey.

She is survived by a daughter Jackie Flynn (Roger); son Terry Coates (Tammy); sister Mary Woods; brother Analo Phillips; grandchildren Shane Coates (Jennifer), Mechelle Coates, Crystal Meadows (Shaun); great grandchildren Devon Mace (Nikki), Ethan Meadows (Maddie), Evan Meadows (Regan), Nathaniel, Braelynn, and Lana; great-great grandchild Derek Mace and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Ken Parker, Phillip Parker, and Brian Coates will officiate. The burial will follow in the Coates Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
