Katherine "Kathy" Marshall Rathbone, 65, of Marshall passed away Friday, May 15, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Franklin and Juanita Jackson Marshall and a native of Buncombe County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Marshall.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 47 years, US Army veteran, Tom Rathbone; son, Johnny Rathbone; daughter, Wendy Rathbone; sister, Linda Gail Marshall; brothers, Tommy and Phillip Marshall; grandchildren, Megan Shelton, Regan, Johnny, and Bentlee Rathbone, Seth Deweese, Ellijah Tipton, and Ethan Rathbone; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Murray; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathy was loved by many people. She was a fighter to the end who loved her family deeply.
