Kathy Lunsford Marshbanks, 64, of Weaverville, went to be with Jesus, Sunday, October 3, 2021. She is a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Herman Curtis and Alma Ruth Rice Lunsford. In addition to her parents, Kathy is also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Anders and Helen Lunsford.

She is survived by her husband Allen Marshbanks; bonus daughters, Sara Marshbanks Barrier and husband John, Christina Aardema, and Alana Atland; sister, Jackie Shelton; brother, Roger Lunsford; grandchildren, Carter, Flora, Ian, Abby, Leighton and Knox; nieces and nephews, Taylor Shelton, Nick Lunsford, Jessica Scott, Lindsey Lunsford, Ashley Talley, Leonard, Lloyd and Lenny Anders; 3 great nieces and a special friend, Donna Cole.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. Reverends Jerry Shelton and Dean Metcalf will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rice Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
