Kay Louise Peek Boone, 86, of Charlotte, NC, passed away December 1, 2024. She was a native of Madison County and the daughter of the late George Washington and Janet Limer Peek. Mrs. Boone was a member of Charlotte's First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Tom Peek.

Mrs. Boone was a dedicated and beloved financial secretary for 30 years at West Mecklenburg High School, where she supported and influenced many students and staff members.

Mrs. Boone is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Boone; daughter, Kathy Boone-Pratt (Charlie); son, Brent Boone (Marisha); brother, Bobby Peek; sister-in-laws, Terri Boone McCurry and Carol Houston Boone; grandchildren, Kaytlin Boone Warren (Edward) and Taylor Boone and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends John Ray, Michael Cummings and Stanley Peek will officiate. The burial will follow in the Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

For those who are unable to travel to attend the funeral service, it will be live streamed, 2:00pm Thursday, at www.blueridgefuneralservice.org. Friends are also encouraged to visit Charles at The Addison Assisted Living, 440 Salem Church Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092 in the weeks and months to come, in lieu of traveling to attend the service.
