Obituary

Larry Allen Aikens, 75, of Marshall, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the son of the late McKinley and Rose Tweed Aikens. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his son, Lewis Aikens, and brother, Dillon Aikens.

Larry was a smart man and an avid bear hunter. He also enjoyed working in his garage.

He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Phyllis Hensley Aikens; daughter, Wanda Clemens (Jim Andl); daughter-in-law, Stacey Aikens; sister, Susie Jarman; grandchildren, Crystal Hill, Ashley Weaver (Coty), Wesley Hill, Kelci Ross (Zachary), and Kelby Aikens; great grandchildren, Kylie, Saije, Cora; special cousins, Marty Aikens, and W.J. Key; uncle Titus Cantrell; many nieces, nephews, bear hunter friends and his hound dog, Peanut.

UPDATED INFORMATION:

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 23 2024, at Aikens Family Cemetery, Hickory Log Road, Marshall. Reverend Coty Weaver will officiate. The family will greet friends and family from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, prior to the graveside service on Friday.
