Laura Clare Smith Keegan, 53 of El Miner Drive, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, NC. She is the daughter of the late William and Anna Marie Ward Smith.

Mrs. Keegan is survived by her husband, Steven Vincent Keegan; sons, Corey Hill, of Douglasville, GA., Zachary Keegan, Lincoln, NE., Bryce Hill and Kasey Hill of Mars Hill, NC., and Ryan Keegan of Matthews, NC; sisters, Annamarie Smith-Butz and Catherine Smith of St. Petersburg, FL.; brothers, Stephen Smith of Charlotte, NC and Andrew Smith of Williamsburg, VA. and one grandchild, Gracie Hill of Douglasville, GA.

She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her granddaughter, Gracie. She was a champion for animals and was proud of the way her sons grew into great young men.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
