Linda "Jackie" Shelton Watkins Dejesus, age 67, passed away at Care Partners Solace Center on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She is the daughter of Clara Rice Ball and the late Jack Shelton. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her first husband, "Jay Bird" Watkins and mother-in-law, Sally Ann Watkins.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather Robert Ball; stepmother Shirley Shelton; stepdaughter Marquita Williams; brothers, Marty Ball and Ronnie Ball (Tanya); nephew, Ethan Ball; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Watkins, and the entire Watkins family; best friend, Maxine and her two dogs, Chester and Ice.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Raymond Cantrell and Steve Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in California Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
