Lloyd Truett Parker, 67, of Leesburg, FL, went home to be with the Lord on April 20th from pancreatic cancer. Lloyd was born August 29, 1954, in Lufkin, Texas to Roy Shafer Parker and Joy Antoinette Parker. He graduated from Carson Newman University with a degree in political science. Lloyd was married on December 31, 1977, to Susan Ann Thomas. They were married 44 years and had three children. Lloyd worked for State Farm Insurance Companies for 32 years where he forged lifelong friendships before retiring in 2010. In retirement he split his time between his hobbies: traveling, hiking, woodworking, and playing with his grandchildren. In the last 10 years of his life, he devoted most of his woodworking skills to building their dream home in the mountains of North Carolina. Lloyd and Susan were longtime members of the Presbyterian Church in America. Lloyd's faith in Christ and his assurance in eternal salvation was the foundation of a lifetime of service.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Owen Parker. He is survived by his wife Susan, his children Joy Lynne (Chris) Gosey of Dacula, GA, Brian (Allison) Parker of Charlotte, NC, and Evan (Genna) Parker of Candler, NC, and his 6 grandchildren: Truett, Jackson, Madeleine and Catherine Gosey and Hazel and Eloise Parker. Lloyd is also survived by his three siblings Shafer (Jeanne) Parker, Laura (Garry) Jabs, and Cynthia (Ron) Strem as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom live in Alberta, Canada.

A memorial service will be held at Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church of Asheville, NC at 2 pm on April 30th with a time of visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Christian Care Center (115 N. 13th Street, Leesburg, FL 34748), Four Seasons Hospice (571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731), or please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice in Lloyd's name.
