Joan Norton Ballard, age 84, of Ballard Drive passed away at her residence, Sunday, April 26, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Elisha and Ellie Burrell Norton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Ballard.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Plemmons (David), Connie Byrd (Ricky) and Judy Peek; grandchildren, Jessica, Sherri, Raleigh and Chad; great-grandchildren, Kye, Riot, Kaley, Jasmine, Ella Grace, Lola Jo, Brody, Levi, Destiny and Canaan; great-great grandchildren, Paisley, Nellie, Kate, Aidan, Kamdan; brothers, Howard Norton (Wilma) and Franklin Norton (Leila).

A private graveside service will be held 3:00PM Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Canaan Peek will officiate.

Special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially nurses; Rachel, Sherri and Amy for all the compassion they gave our mom in her last days.
